So…this little lady danced into my life this week and I hollered!
I’ve been looking for her, dreaming about her for almost a year! Truly the picture of perfection.
I know, I know. Not so dreamy in her current state but I could see her future! I pictured her bold, yet soft. Vibrant, but settling. Her size, her lines, and her classic style; all begged to be highlighted. I named her Stella and this is how she got her groove back!
Once I cleaned the years of build up from her body {step away from the furniture polish, friends}, I lathered her in the most luxurious gold paint by Modern Masters. Their Metallic Shimmers are everyyyyy thing, y’all. If you haven’t played around with them, I’d encourage you to do so! I used the semi-opaque Gold Rush which required 3 coats to cover completely. The opaque colors will normally color in just 2 but I’d already used Gold Rush elsewhere in the room…show you that in a minute!
Once painted, I gave her The Finishing Touch by adding the most stupendous paper everrrrr. A marriage made in furniture painting heaven!
So. In. Love. The walk down my hallway makes me smile now!
Remember I mentioned using Gold Rush elsewhere in the room? She makes my pretty rose mural shine even more!
I shared an easy way to create stunning murals like this one on Good Morning Arkansas. You can catch the clip in this post!
I hope you enjoyed her makeover as much as I did. It really lit a fire under me to finish this room! Stay tuned for it, won’t ya?
Smooches!
UPDATE: Stella made her television debut here:
